Spotify lets users remove children’s music from recommendations
A new setting allows Free and Premium users to stop eligible children’s and family music from shaping Discovery Weekly, Daily Mix and Wrapped.

Spotify has added a setting that lets users exclude children’s and family music from their personalised recommendations and annual Wrapped recap.
The “Include kids and family music in taste profile” toggle covers listening such as nursery rhymes, television theme songs and songs from animated films. It affects Discovery Weekly, Daily Mix and Wrapped for both Free and Premium users.
Spotify says changes to personalised recommendations may take up to 48 hours to appear. The setting can also apply retroactively to relevant listening from the year, including music that would otherwise influence Wrapped.
The feature builds on Managed accounts, which Spotify introduced in 2025 for children using shared family plans. The company has also previously added controls to exclude playlists and hide individual tracks from taste profiles.
Engadget reported the change, though the available material does not detail how Spotify classifies eligible children’s and family music or confirm whether the setting is immediately available to all users.
