Raheem Sterling pleads guilty to dangerous driving after M3 crash
The former England footballer also admitted possessing nitrous oxide and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Former England footballer Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after crashing a Lamborghini into motorway barriers in Hampshire.
Sterling appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court and admitted driving a Lamborghini Urus dangerously on the M25, M3, A327 and Minley Road before the collision on 28 May.
He also admitted possessing six canisters of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen for analysis. Police described the substance as a Class C drug.
Hampshire Police said the crash was a single-vehicle collision on the M3 southbound near the Minley interchange. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
The 31-year-old has won 82 England caps and last appeared for the national team at the 2022 World Cup. He most recently played for Feyenoord, making eight appearances after leaving Chelsea in January.
BBC Sport reported that Sterling previously played for Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. He was made an MBE in 2021 for services to racial equality in sport.
