Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso provided confirmation of the casualties to DZMM radio on Tuesday, stating that both individuals killed were students. The mayor clarified that one of the deceased was the gunman involved in the incident, while the other was a victim of the gunfire.
Regional police spokesperson Shellamie Chang indicated that officers were actively working to secure the school grounds. She noted that further details regarding the incident were not immediately available, as authorities prioritised stabilising the situation at the educational facility.
