YouTube Premium to bundle Peacock subscription from early 2027
US subscribers gain access to ad-supported Peacock Premium at no extra cost, marking a strategic move as the streaming service reports its first quarterly profit.

YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States will receive ad-supported Peacock Premium at no additional cost starting in early 2027, as part of an expanded multi-year partnership with NBCUniversal. The bundle allows users to upgrade to the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus tier, adding significant value to the YouTube Premium membership.
The inclusion of Peacock represents a substantial benefit for YouTube Premium holders, particularly given that the ad-supported service currently costs $11 per month or $110 per year in the US. This pricing context is relevant as YouTube Premium prices in the US increased in June to $16 per month for an individual plan and $27 for a family plan.
Matt Strauss, NBCUniversal’s media group chairman, stated that the agreement aims to boost Peacock’s growth by reaching millions of new subscribers. The move coincides with a pivotal financial milestone for the streaming platform, which recently reported its first-ever quarterly profit six years after its debut. Peacock currently holds 48 million subscribers in the US, according to Comcast’s most recent earnings report.
In the interim, YouTube users can sign up for Peacock Premium as an add-on via YouTube Primetime Channels starting this summer. Peacock Premium Plus has been available as an add-on since last month. The expanded partnership also includes plans for some live sports events to stream on the NBC Sports YouTube channel.
Bundles involving Universal+ and Hayu are planned for markets outside the US, indicating a broader international strategy. The deal comes as NBCUniversal, which is owned by Comcast, continues to explore structural changes, with plans to spin out as a separate company. Peacock has previously partnered with other platforms, such as Apple TV, for similar streaming bundles.
