Trade return fuels White Sox as they move within one win of ALCS
Chicago beat Cleveland 4–3 to take a 2–0 lead in the best-of-five series, with players acquired in the Garrett Crochet trade accounting for all four White Sox runs.

The Chicago White Sox are one win from the American League Championship Series after a 4–3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians in Game 2 of the Division Series. The result gives Chicago a 2–0 lead in the best-of-five matchup and leaves Cleveland facing elimination.
Chicago is 4–0 this postseason, with all four wins on the road. The performance has also put the return from the Garrett Crochet trade at the centre of the series: Chase Meidroth, Braden Montgomery and Kyle Teel scored or drove in all four White Sox runs.
After falling behind 2–1, Chicago scored three times in the sixth. Montgomery’s two-run double put the White Sox ahead, and Meidroth followed with a single to add an insurance run.
Teel helped start Chicago’s scoring with a fourth-inning single and later scored. Sean Burke, pitching behind two openers, worked 5⅓ innings and struck out six.
Cleveland scored three runs across the first two games, according to CBS Sports. The Guardians need a win to extend the series; Chicago can secure a place in the ALCS with one more victory.
