Stoke City complete comeback to beat Sheffield United 2-1
Jack McGlynn and Sam Gallagher scored in the second half as Stoke overturned Kalvin Phillips’ opener at the bet365 Stadium.
Stoke City came from behind to defeat Sheffield United 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, extending their run to four wins in five league matches, according to Sky Sports.
Sheffield United took the lead in the 51st minute when Kalvin Phillips scored from a long-range free-kick. It was reportedly the midfielder’s first league goal in five-and-a-half years.
Stoke responded through Jack McGlynn, who equalised in the 78th minute for his second goal in as many games.
Sam Gallagher completed the comeback in the 86th minute, scoring Stoke’s winning goal and securing three points for the hosts.
The result denied Sheffield United what would have been only their second away league win of the season. Stoke defender Lamine Cisse also marked his 150th career appearance.
