Cedar Ridge defence drives 4-0 start with win over Rouse
The Raiders defeated Rouse 34-16 in Austin, with Jeremiah Passmore leading another strong defensive display.
Cedar Ridge defeated Rouse 34-16 in Austin on 18 September to move to 4-0, marking the programme’s first unbeaten start through four games since 2017.
The Raiders’ defence again shaped the result. Defensive tackle Jeremiah Passmore recorded 1½ sacks, a forced fumble and three tackles for loss in the win, according to Yahoo Sports.
Cedar Ridge has allowed 20 points per game so far this season, compared with nearly 40 per game last year. The Raiders’ secondary has also recorded seven interceptions.
The improvement follows the appointment of defensive coordinator Brian Gaylor, whom Passmore credited with helping him improve his performance and focus after a difficult 2025 campaign.
Cedar Ridge missed the playoffs by one win last season. The Raiders’ last 4-0 start, in 2017, ended with a district title.
