A computer model simulating nine Major League Baseball games points to a potential playoff preview between the Brewers and Dodgers as a key betting opportunity.
SportsLine’s predictive data model has analysed the nine-game Major League Baseball slate for Thursday, 13 August, to identify specific betting opportunities. The model recommends a three-way parlay with a potential payout of over +500, highlighting the Milwaukee Brewers versus Los Angeles Dodgers matchup.
The simulation, which models every minute of every game 10,000 times, backs the Over 8.5 total runs in the Brewers and Dodgers contest. This matchup is described as a potential playoff preview, with the Brewers facing the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET, with the final game of the day concluding at 10:10 p.m. ET.
DFS professional Mike McClure has also released his daily fantasy baseball picks for the slate, utilising the same predictive data model at SportsLine. McClure, a predictive data engineer with more than $2 million in career winnings, uses the model to account for matchups, statistical trends and injuries when constructing optimal lineups.
Among McClure’s top recommendations is Boston Red Sox outfielder and designated hitter Masataka Yoshida. Priced at $3,000 on DraftKings and $2,900 on FanDuel, Yoshida faces the Toronto Blue Jays. He holds a career batting average of .310 against Toronto in 35 games, recording 10 doubles, four home runs, 17 RBIs and an .826 OPS.
McClure is stacking Yoshida with Baltimore Orioles catcher and first baseman Adley Rutschman. Rutschman, priced at $4,100 on DraftKings and $2,900 on FanDuel, was acquired at the trade deadline from the Orioles while on the injured list. In his most recent game on Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Rutschman went 1-for-3 with two walks in a 5-3 loss.
Rutschman has played in 69 games this season, batting .249 with 19 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 47 RBIs. McClure’s analysis suggests that selecting players with optimal matchups, such as Yoshida against Toronto, is critical for navigating the salary cap constraints in daily fantasy sports.
