Liverpool have reportedly emerged as suitors for PSV attacking midfielder Paul Wanner, according to reporting carried by Yahoo Sports and attributed to Bild football chief Christian Falk.

The 20-year-old Austria international joined PSV from Bayern Munich about a year ago in a reported €15 million deal that included a buy-back clause. Bayern are understood to retain the option, but Falk reports that the German club currently has no intention of activating it.

Wanner’s immediate focus is said to remain at PSV, where he is working to establish himself as the leading player in his position in the Eredivisie rather than pursuing a move to another major club.

He has one assist in eight matches across all competitions for PSV this season. His reported overall record for the Dutch club is five goals and five assists in 40 games.

The available reporting does not indicate that Liverpool have made an offer or entered negotiations. The reported transfer fee and precise terms of Bayern’s buy-back clause have also not been independently confirmed.
