PSG and Marseille meet in high-stakes Ligue 1 Classique

Paris Saint-Germain will visit Marseille’s Vélodrome on Sunday in the final game of Ligue 1 Matchday 5, in a fixture expected to carry significant pressure for both clubs.

France 24 described the Classique as a must-not-lose meeting between two struggling sides seeking to revive their seasons. The report said both teams would look to use the fixture to kick-start their campaigns.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1 on Saturday, Lyon defeated Rennes 4–0, while Paris FC beat Strasbourg 2–1.

In England, Arsenal lost 3–0 to Brighton and Tottenham were beaten 3–2 by Aston Villa. Barcelona maintained a perfect La Liga start with a 3–1 comeback win over Sevilla, while Real Madrid were due to face Atlético Madrid.

In Italy, Roma and Inter drew 2–2, with Manu Koné and Lautaro Martínez scoring twice each. France also exited the Davis Cup after a 3–1 defeat by Canada.
