Patriots support shifts betting line ahead of NFL opener
DraftKings says New England has attracted moneyline and spread bets against Seattle, moving the Seahawks from 3.5-point favourites to three.

The New England Patriots have attracted significant betting support ahead of the NFL regular-season opener against the Seattle Seahawks, according to a Fox Sports report citing DraftKings.
DraftKings opened Seattle as a 3.5-point home favourite, but the spread has since moved to Seahawks -3. The total has remained unchanged at 44.5 points.
Johnny Avello, DraftKings’ director of operations, said bettors were backing New England both on the moneyline and against the spread. The Patriots were listed at +142 to win outright.
The reported market position would leave DraftKings preferring a result in which Seattle wins while New England covers the spread — a scenario Avello described as a “Super Bowl middle”. A 23–21 Seahawks victory was given as an example.
Straight bets on the total were described as nearly even, although Avello expected public money to favour the Over through parlays and same-game parlays.
The game is a rematch of the previous season’s Super Bowl, which Seattle won 29–13. The betting figures and bookmaker preferences reflect the position reported by DraftKings ahead of the opener.
