Pakistan says Afghan air strikes targeted 10 drone sites

Pakistan says it carried out air strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan that it described as sites used to store and launch drones. Pakistani officials said the strikes followed drone attacks from Afghanistan on Wednesday.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the targets were military objectives linked to the attempted attacks. Pakistan’s account of the drone attacks, target sites and their use has not been independently verified.
Mustaghfir Gurbaz, spokesperson for Khost’s governor, said strikes hit several areas of the southeastern province. The governor’s office reported no casualties; no independent assessment was provided.
The latest strikes add to renewed fighting between the neighbours, whose relations have been strained since their worst clashes in years in February. Afghanistan’s Taliban government denies harbouring armed groups that attack Pakistan.
Earlier this week, Afghan officials said Pakistani strikes in Kunar province killed three civilians. Islamabad said it killed 28 “terrorists”. China, Türkiye, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are involved in mediation efforts to secure lasting peace.
