58th Girl Scouts Unite Event
Agency experts to lead Hyperwall Storytelling sessions on STEM careers and Earth exploration

NASA will host an exhibition booth, designated as Booth #206 in the Exhibit Hall, for the 58th Girl Scouts Unite Event, scheduled to take place from July 23 to 25, 2026. The agency’s participation centres on Hyperwall Storytelling sessions led by NASA experts, designed to engage attendees with visualisations of complex scientific data and narratives.

The agenda for Thursday, July 23, features a series of 15-minute presentations covering a range of topics including planetary defence, Earth exploration, the Artemis programme, and career pathways within the agency. The sessions are delivered by a team of NASA specialists, including Barbara Hilton, Lindsay Hays, Kelly Fast, and others.

The morning schedule begins at 11:00 AM with Hilton presenting "From Daisy to NASA Engineer," followed by Hays discussing "Exploring Mars, The Planet Next Door" at 11:15 AM. At 11:30 AM, Naoma McCall will present "Get Ready With Me: Going to the Moon," and Amy Kaminski will address "NASA Is for Everyone!" at 11:45 AM, focusing on careers beyond science and engineering.

Kelly Fast is scheduled to present "Finding Asteroids Before They Find Us: Planetary Defense at NASA" at 12:00 PM. The afternoon sessions include Karen Romano Young on science communications at 2:15 PM, Lesley Ott on Earth exploration at 2:30 PM, and Kaitlin Harbeck on the Artemis mission at 3:00 PM.

Two sessions on Thursday remain listed as to be determined in the preliminary agenda: one at 2:45 PM by Jenny Mottar and an Artemis overview at 3:15 PM by Dominique Brewer. The day concludes with Sofie Bates presenting "Social Media... For Science!" at 3:45 PM.

This engagement follows NASA’s recent utilisation of Hyperwall Storytelling at the American Library Association 2026 conference, held from June 25 to 29, 2026. At that event, staff presented at Booth #2243 to visualise scientific data for library professionals and the public, demonstrating the agency’s ongoing effort to make complex research accessible to diverse audiences.

The Girl Scouts Unite Event serves as an annual gathering focused on STEM education, providing a platform for young people to explore scientific opportunities. NASA’s presence at Booth #206 aims to highlight the breadth of work within the agency, from planetary defence to Earth science and lunar exploration.
