Morillo strikeout sends Amarillo into Texas League championship series
The Sod Poodles held off the Frisco RoughRiders 8–7, with Alfred Morillo sealing the win before celebrating with a backflip on the mound.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles have advanced to the Texas League Championship Series after defeating the Frisco RoughRiders 8–7 in Game 3 of the South Division Series, according to Yahoo Sports.
Arizona Diamondbacks pitching prospect Alfred Morillo recorded the final out by striking out Arturo Disla in the bottom of the ninth inning. He then celebrated on the mound with a backflip, an action also shared by the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
Amarillo built an early advantage with six runs in the first inning, but Frisco reduced the deficit to 6–5 over the following eight innings. The Sod Poodles added two insurance runs in the ninth before Morillo closed out the game.
The result sends Amarillo to the championship series for the first time since 2023. The two-time Texas League champions are scheduled to face the Springfield Cardinals in a best-of-three series beginning on Sunday.
