Kline targets Zhang Weili following UFC Oklahoma City victory
The 26-year-old fighter has issued a conditional challenge to former champion Zhang Weili, citing a desire to settle debates regarding her standing in the division.
Fatima Kline has extended her winning streak to four consecutive bouts following her victory over Tabatha Ricci at UFC Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old women’s strawweight dominated the contest at the Paycom Arena, a performance that propelled her into the UFC’s Top 10 rankings for the division.
The win marks Kline’s first appearance of 2026 and her fifth fight within the octagon since making her UFC debut in July 2024. By securing the result against Ricci, who is known by the nickname "Baby Shark," Kline has positioned herself as a serious contender for the title, setting her sights on the top of the 115-pound division.
Following the bout, Kline issued a public challenge to former two-time champion Zhang Weili. Speaking to MMAJunkie.com, the fighter identified Weili, or potentially Tatiana Suarez, as the ideal opponent to secure a title shot. Kline noted that both Virna Jandiroba and Suarez have already lost to the belt, suggesting that a bout with Weili would be the most logical path forward.
Kline indicated that her motivation is partly driven by online commentary suggesting she could defeat anyone except Weili. She expressed a desire to prove detractors wrong and validate her own assessment of her capabilities. "If she decides she's coming back to 115, I'd love to welcome her back," Kline stated, framing the potential matchup as a way to settle debates about her standing in the division.
Looking ahead, Kline has set a target to return to competition by December 2026. She emphasised that her priority is ensuring her health is stable before stepping back into the octagon. "I'm going to make sure my health is good, I'm all in one piece and then hopefully we see me back in December," she said, confirming her intent to secure one more fight before the end of the year.
