Judge’s ALDS place remains uncertain as Yankees weigh roster

Aaron Judge’s place in the New York Yankees’ roster for the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays remained unresolved ahead of Saturday morning’s deadline.

Manager Aaron Boone said the club was assessing Judge’s condition and whether he could be available at some point in the series. The Yankees had not confirmed whether he would make the roster or when he might play.

Judge has been sidelined with a calf strain since 19 September. He has taken part in live batting practice, but Boone said the team was still weighing how and when he could be used.

The Yankees advanced after sweeping the Boston Red Sox in a two-game series. Their final roster was due before Game 1 against Tampa Bay.
