Camp Nou reported as leading contender for 2030 World Cup final
Mundo Deportivo places Barcelona’s rebuilt stadium ahead of Madrid’s Bernabéu, but FIFA is not expected to select venues until 2028.

Barcelona’s rebuilt Spotify Camp Nou is reportedly the leading candidate to host the 2030 World Cup final, ahead of Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu. The ranking comes from Spanish sports publication Mundo Deportivo; FIFA has not chosen a venue.
Camp Nou is planned to hold 105,000 spectators, compared with the Bernabéu’s reported capacity of 83,186. The figures distinguish the two Spanish contenders, but do not indicate how FIFA will decide.
The reported contest also includes Casablanca’s future Hassan II stadium. The 2030 tournament is expected to be shared by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with 104 matches across 20 stadiums.
Mundo Deportivo points to Camp Nou’s reported role as host of the 2029 Champions League final as part of its case. It also argues that the Bernabéu’s hosting of the 1982 World Cup final could count against a return there, while acknowledging no stated FIFA rule supports that reasoning.
FIFA is not expected to allocate tournament venues until 2028. Until then, Camp Nou’s reported lead remains a media assessment rather than an official selection.
