Jayden Daniels ruled out after left elbow injury against Cowboys

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was ruled out with a left elbow injury after being hurt during the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on 20 September.

Daniels was taking a snap near the Cowboys’ goal line before half-time when he stumbled and fell while bracing himself with his arm. His elbow bent awkwardly, and he was subsequently carted from the field.

The Commanders later confirmed that Daniels would not return to the game. Yahoo Sports reported that the injury appeared similar to a left elbow dislocation Daniels suffered last season, but a dislocation was not confirmed.

No specific diagnosis, severity assessment or recovery timeline was provided. It is also not known whether Daniels will miss future games.

Fox commentator Tom Brady reacted after seeing the replay, saying, “Oh s***”, before apologising on air. Cowboys cornerback Cobie Durant also left the field after being stepped on during the sequence.
