LSU will be without defensive back Dashawn Spears for the remainder of the season after an MRI reportedly confirmed an ACL injury sustained during the Tigers’ 32–24 loss to Ole Miss, CBS Sports reported.
Tight end Trey’Dez Green will also miss games after suffering knee sprains and bruising in the same match. His mother said in a Facebook post that Green had not torn any ligaments and would not require surgery.
The length of Green’s absence has not been disclosed. His mother described the injury as “some bad sprains and bruises” and said he would miss some games while recovering.
The injuries remove two emerging players from LSU’s immediate plans. Spears had been attracting attention as a potential NFL draft prospect, while Green has been described as a potential first-round selection.
LSU next faces Texas A&M on Saturday. Coach Lane Kiffin said after the Ole Miss game that neither injury “seemed very well”, but LSU had not provided further updates in the cited material.
