Jayden Daniels Carted Off With Left-Elbow Injury Against Cowboys

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted from the field after suffering a left-elbow injury on the final play of the first half against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Daniels fumbled the snap near the Cowboys’ 1-yard line while attempting to complete a pass. He immediately favoured his left arm and needed assistance before being taken from the field.

Fox Sports reported that Daniels was taken for an X-ray shortly afterwards. Marcus Mariota was expected to replace him if Daniels could not return.

Before the injury, Daniels had completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown, while adding 69 rushing yards. The Cowboys led 17-10 at half-time.

The injury follows a reported left-elbow problem in 2025, when Daniels dislocated the elbow against the Seattle Seahawks and missed 10 games amid multiple injuries. No diagnosis, severity assessment or expected absence has been confirmed for the latest injury.
