Haaland double gives Manchester City winning Champions League start
Erling Haaland scored twice against FC Porto, while Enzo Fernández praised the striker and outlined his hopes for their developing partnership.

Erling Haaland scored both goals as Manchester City defeated FC Porto 2–0 in the UEFA Champions League, giving Enzo Maresca a win in his first Champions League match as the club’s head coach.
Haaland was denied twice by Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa before heading in shortly after half-time from a curling cross by Enzo Fernández. He added a second goal in stoppage time.
Fernández, speaking after the match in comments carried by Yahoo Sports, described Haaland as “an animal, a beast” and said he would look for the striker on the pitch.
“Hopefully I can give him more assists,” Fernández said, while also praising Haaland for welcoming and helping him after his move to Manchester City.
Fernández said he was excited about the next stage of his career and credited Maresca with doing all he could to make the transfer possible. He pledged to give full effort in every training session and match.
