Derrick Henry moves to third on NFL rushing touchdowns list
The Ravens running back scored three times against the Colts to pass Marcus Allen and reach a reported 125 career rushing touchdowns.
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry moved to third on the NFL’s all-time career rushing touchdowns list during his side’s Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to CBS Sports.
Henry scored from four yards in the opening quarter to tie Hall of Famer Marcus Allen on 123 rushing touchdowns. He moved ahead of Allen in the second quarter with a 32-yard touchdown run.
Henry completed the performance with a third score from three yards in the fourth quarter. CBS Sports reported that the touchdown took his career total to 125.
Allen retired after the 1997 season and was previously the NFL’s career leader in touchdown runs. Henry entered the game ranked fourth on the list and 10th in career rushing yards.
Emmitt Smith leads the cited rankings with 164 rushing touchdowns, followed by LaDainian Tomlinson with 145. Henry is also less than 1,000 rushing yards short of 14,000, a mark reached by six other players.
