Fury casts Joshua bout as route to another Usyk fight
Tyson Fury predicts a stoppage within seven rounds in the scheduled Cardiff bout, while describing a third meeting with Oleksandr Usyk as his next target.
Tyson Fury says he intends to use his scheduled heavyweight fight with Anthony Joshua in Cardiff as a stepping stone to a possible third bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
Speaking to the Furocity YouTube channel, Fury predicted he would stop Joshua within six or seven rounds. He also criticised Joshua’s speed and conditioning, while saying the two would both enter the ring to fight.
The bout is scheduled for 11 December at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Fury said he still had doubts it would proceed, citing Joshua’s decision not to join him for a face-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April.
Fury said he wants to meet Usyk in the United States. He claimed he won their first two fights, though Usyk beat him twice on points in 2024. A third fight has not been confirmed; it remains Fury’s stated aim.
Sky Sports reported Fury’s remarks after the fight announcement. Earlier negotiations had faced obstacles, and Fury had expressed doubts about the Joshua fight in August.
