Luke Humphries swept Jermaine Wattimena 3-0 to reach the World Grand Prix quarter-finals, where he will face Niels Zonneveld. Sky Sports reported Humphries averaged 94.11 and hit 74 per cent of his starting doubles and 64 per cent of his closing doubles.

Zonneveld beat Gary Anderson 3-1, while James Wade secured a 3-1 win over Stephen Bunting. Wade’s victory sets up a quarter-final against Van Veen.

Van Veen came through a deciding set to beat Ryan Searle 3-2. Searle recorded a 167 checkout, the tournament’s highest to that point, but Van Veen took the final set 3-0.
