AI-powered travel agency Fora hits unicorn status, raises $60M
AI-powered travel platform valued at $1 billion as investors back human-centric agent model

Fora, an artificial intelligence-powered travel agency platform, has achieved unicorn status following the closure of a $60 million Series D funding round. The investment values the company at $1 billion, marking a significant milestone for the travel technology sector. The round was led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with additional participation from Insight Partners and Thrive Capital.

Founded in 2021, Fora operates a dual-sided platform designed to lower barriers to entry for new travel advisors while providing users with access to professional planning services. The infrastructure supports client communication and itinerary management, catering to trips ranging from honeymoons to family holidays in destinations such as Costa Rica and Thailand. The majority of the agents on the platform are new to the travel advising profession.

The fresh capital will be directed toward expanding Fora’s AI assistant, Via. The tool is designed to handle administrative burdens, including research and itinerary building, with the strategic aim of enhancing human productivity rather than replacing human agents. This approach allows agents to dedicate more time to building client relationships.

Since its launch, agents on the Fora platform have booked more than $3 billion worth of travel. The company has now raised a total of $138.5 million in funding across all rounds. The latest injection of capital will also support hiring initiatives and expansion into additional travel categories, specifically cruises and flights.

This development underscores the growing integration of artificial intelligence in professional services, where technology is increasingly positioned as a productivity enhancer for human workers. Fora’s trajectory reflects a broader shift in how travel distribution and advisory services are being structured and scaled.
