Dodgers extend winning streak to four with victory over Mets

Kyle Tucker hit his second consecutive home run, marking his ninth of the season and the first time he has homered in back-to-back games since signing with the Dodgers. Tucker’s home run came off Mets rookie pitcher Nolan McLean, who yielded four runs and seven hits over six innings. Tucker’s performance highlights his continued offensive impact since joining the club on a four-year contract.
Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed one run over six innings, striking out five batters and walking three. Although Yamamoto was not as sharp as in his previous complete game, he managed runners on base effectively to maintain the Dodgers' lead. Andy Pages contributed significantly to the offensive output, driving in two runs, including an RBI single in the fifth inning that extended the lead to 4-0.
The Dodgers capitalized on defensive errors by the Mets to build their early advantage. In the third inning, Los Angeles scored three runs, including a play where a throwing error by first baseman Brett Baty and a passed ball by catcher Francisco Alvarez allowed runs to cross the plate. Alvarez’s passed ball was the eighth of the season, the most in the National League.
The loss exacerbates a difficult period for the Mets, who placed All-Star slugger Juan Soto on the injured list with a strained left calf. Soto is expected to miss at least three weeks, further weakening a roster that has struggled to maintain competitiveness. The Mets managed some late offensive production, with Bo Bichette recording an RBI single and pinch-hitter Tyrone Taylor doubling to score two runs in the eighth inning.
Brock Stewart secured the victory for Los Angeles by pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his third career save. The series concludes on Sunday with the Dodgers scheduled to face the Mets in a finale, featuring RHP Emmet Sheehan opposing RHP Freddy Peralta.
