DDCA appointment process faces eligibility questions

The Delhi & District Cricket Association’s staffing reshuffle has drawn scrutiny from within its leadership, with joint secretary Amit Grover asking the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) to review eligibility for two cricket appointments.
In an email to CAC members on Friday, copied to senior DDCA officials, Grover raised reservations about Manu Nayyar’s appointment as senior men’s selector and Varun Sood’s appointment as assistant coach of the men’s under-19 team. He asked the committee to examine the relevant rules and records before finalising selections.

An unnamed recipient of the email defended the appointments, saying the rules had been followed. The recipient said Nayyar had not completed his five-year term and that Sood had recently retired from playing.
The appointments are part of a broader DDCA staffing reshuffle across men’s, women’s and junior teams. Former India wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya was also reappointed head coach of Delhi’s Ranji Trophy team.
