Darian Mensah moves to No. 1 in CBS Sports quarterback rankings
The Miami quarterback’s record-setting debut against Stanford also moved him to the top of DraftKings’ reported Heisman Trophy odds.

Darian Mensah has moved to No. 1 in CBS Sports’ college football quarterback power rankings after a career-best performance in Miami’s 45–6 win over Stanford.
In his first game for Miami, Mensah threw for 401 yards and five touchdowns. CBS Sports ranked him ahead of its full 1–50 quarterback list entering Week 2, while DraftKings listed him at the top of its Heisman Trophy odds at +600, according to the sports publication.
Mensah previously played at Tulane, where he passed for nearly 3,000 yards, and Duke, where he threw for nearly 4,000 yards and helped guide the Blue Devils to an ACC title. Miami also added Cooper Barkate, his former top target at Duke.
Miami receiver Malachi Toney recorded a reported school-record 234 receiving yards against Stanford. CBS Sports described the connection between Toney and Mensah as a major feature of the opening-week performance.
The result has raised expectations around Miami’s offence, but CBS Sports said the team’s run game and defence still require further assessment. The quarterback ranking is an editorial assessment, while the Heisman odds are a bookmaker measure that may change during the season.
