Caitlin Clark’s Nike debut puts player input at the centre of the launch
The Caitlin 1 and an accompanying clothing line are scheduled to go on sale Thursday, with Nike presenting the shoe as a blend of court-focused design and personal detail.

Caitlin Clark’s first Nike signature shoe, the Caitlin 1, and a clothing line are scheduled to go on sale Thursday. The launch centres on Clark’s involvement in the design and a campaign built around the contrast between her public profile and ordinary off-court interests.
Nike footwear designer Ben Nethongkome told ESPN the shoe has a multidirectional traction pattern and a curved Air Turbo Zoom unit, design choices intended to support changes of direction and step-backs. The upper’s arc-like pattern is meant to evoke Clark’s shot chart and support the forefoot, he said. The source provides no independent testing of those performance aims.
The first colourways are “Caitlin Blue” and “Warning Code”. Clark had already worn a “Berry Fade” pair in a playoff game, after requesting that its colours be reversed between the left and right shoes. Nike product line manager Alex Zerzan said Clark was involved in every design decision.
The shoe also carries details tied to Clark, including “22” and “CC” markings and swooshes referencing her initials and the three-point arc. Clark joins a group of active WNBA players with signature shoes, including A’ja Wilson, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jacy Sheldon.
Nike’s campaign uses the tagline “Nothing special to see here*”. Ads show Clark eating cereal and packing shoes, with Nick Offerman providing voiceover. Clark told ESPN the concept reflects how extraordinary performances on court sit alongside familiar routines off it.
The source gives the release day as Thursday but does not specify a calendar date or which markets will have the products available.
