Aden airport attack claims prompt flight diversion as Saudi Arabia reports missile interception
Yemen’s Transport Ministry says missiles and drones targeted Aden airport. The Houthis say they targeted military supplies nearby; the intended target remains unclear.

Yemen’s internationally recognised government says Houthi missiles and drones targeted Aden airport, while Saudi Arabia’s military coalition reports intercepting a separate missile north of Riyadh.
Yemen’s Transport Ministry said at least two ballistic missiles and several drones targeted the airport’s runway and passenger terminal. It said one missile landed near the runway shortly before a flight from Cairo was due to arrive. The flight was diverted to Jeddah, the terminal evacuated and two aircraft moved from the tarmac.
The Houthis said they targeted Saudi military supplies at Badr camp near the airport. The accounts leave the intended target and precise impact locations unclear. The supplied report does not independently verify the strikes.
Aden airport is a key international gateway for areas outside Houthi control. The internationally recognised government has been based in the city since the Houthis took Sanaa in 2014.
Separately, the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile north of Riyadh. It gave no details about the missile’s intended target or any damage.
