Yemen’s military claims more than 1,000 strikes as Houthis advance
The military says the strikes target Houthi positions and supply assets. Taiz remains under government control, but its main route to Aden has been cut.

Yemen’s military says it has launched more than 1,000 strikes against Houthi targets as the government seeks to retake territory lost to the group. The military spokesman said the strikes hit artillery and rocket positions, fortifications, routes, supply lines, logistics assets and reinforcements.
The strike count and targets have not been independently verified in the France 24 report. Houthi advances have continued despite the campaign.
On Sunday, the Houthis cut the main supply route between Taiz and Aden, effectively encircling the city, according to the report. Taiz remains under government control and has long been besieged from the north, east and west.
The Houthi offensive began in September. UN figures cited by France 24 say fighting has killed hundreds of combatants on both sides and displaced more than 145,000 people.
Yemen’s civil war began in 2014, when Houthi forces seized Sanaa. Saudi Arabia has led an anti-Houthi coalition since 2015.
