WIRED has updated its 2026 buying guide to laptop backpacks, adding the Paramount Daypack Lite 20L and Navigator Backpack to its main recommendations.

The guide also names the Eagle Creek Tour Lite Travel Pack, North Face Base Camp Voyager Pro, Bagsmart Moss Backpack, Brown Buffalo Conceal Pack and GoRuck G1 as honourable mentions.

WIRED said its staff and reviewers assessed the bags through everyday use, including work trips, flights, commuting, hiking and holidays. The reviews consider comfort, capacity, organisation, durability, weather resistance and suitability for different uses.

The guide covers a range of designs, from compact commuter bags and travel packs to models intended for outdoor activities. It also discusses laptop sleeves for users who do not need a full backpack.

The recommendations reflect individual reviewers’ testing and preferences rather than controlled comparative testing. WIRED also notes that prices and availability can change.
