Washington to host Eastern Washington in non-conference finale
The Huskies lead the series 3-0, while the Eagles enter with a 1-2 record and a competitive offence led by Nate Bell.
Washington will host Eastern Washington on Saturday afternoon to conclude its non-conference schedule, according to a Yahoo Sports preview.
The Huskies have won all three previous meetings between the in-state programs, with each game taking place since 2011. Eastern Washington enters with a 1-2 record, although its three games have reportedly been decided by one possession and its two losses have come by a combined 15 points.
Quarterback Nate Bell has completed 63 per cent of his passes for 781 yards and six touchdowns. He has also rushed 40 times for 159 yards. Receiver Wesley Garrett leads the Eagles with 17 catches for 223 yards and two touchdowns, while Eastern Washington has three receivers with more than 100 receiving yards this season.
Eastern Washington’s defence has allowed an average of 33 points per game, but has recorded 21 tackles for loss, six sacks and three interceptions. Washington’s offence has struggled to score and establish consistency, while its defence is seeking to build on recent performances.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. PT, with the game streamed on the Big Ten Network.
