The Washington Huskies football program has completed its offseason roster restructuring by welcoming 14 transfers for the 2026 season. As the team prepares for the upcoming campaign, the focus has shifted from the departures to the portal towards the integration of incoming talent designed to provide immediate impact and institutional stability.
Cornerback Emmanuel Karnley, arriving from Virginia after a stint at Arizona, represents a strategic continuity for the coaching staff. Karnley brings veteran experience, having started 10 games and recorded over 1,000 snaps in his collegiate career. His prior association with the current staff from their time at Arizona is viewed as a significant asset, offering a familiarity that has proven effective in previous recruitment cycles.
Defensive lineman Darin Conley, transferring from Ball State, enters a competitive environment on the defensive line. Conley is positioned to challenge true freshman Derek Colman-Brusa for a starting role. Under the rotational scheme employed by defensive coordinator Nick Holt, both players are expected to receive substantial playing time, with Conley’s arrival intended to maintain high-level talent across the defensive front.
Special teams stability is a primary objective with the addition of kicker Tyler Robles, who previously played at USC before spending the last season at Texas State. Robles posted a 91.3% success rate on field goal attempts last year, converting 21 of 23 kicks, including three from 50 yards or more. This accuracy, which ranked among the highest in college football for kickers with at least 20 attempts, aligns with the philosophical emphasis on securing at least two of the game’s three phases.
The integration of these players addresses specific needs within the roster, particularly in light of recent losses to the transfer portal.
