The 23-year-old Northern Ireland youth international was substituted into the second half to replace Senne Lammens and subsequently saved a crucial penalty from Harry Wilson to seal the win for the Red Devils.

Mee, who was born in Birmingham but qualifies for Northern Ireland through his parents’ birth in Ireland, described the experience of playing in front of a crowd of approximately 85,000 spectators as "really special".
Mee noted that the atmosphere provided an "extra bit of adrenaline" during the high-pressure shootout. He credited the memory of recent All-Ireland finals held at the stadium for helping him focus, stating that the environment "just gets you that extra few inches and helps you make a save".
The goalkeeper has earned 12 caps for Northern Ireland at underage levels, up to the under-21 category. He highlighted the value of his international experience, noting that playing alongside good players along the way has contributed to his development. Mee also mentioned the personal significance of the trip, noting that his parents were present in the crowd.
