Wales’ comeback earns first Nations League A victory

Daniel James and Neco Williams scored as Wales recovered from an early deficit to beat Norway 2–1 in Group A4.

Wales beat Norway 2–1 in Cardiff to claim their first victory in a Nations League A group, overturning an early lead in their UEFA Nations League Group A4 match.

Oscar Bobb put Norway ahead before Daniel James equalised shortly before half-time, converting a cross from Sorba Thomas.

Torbjørn Heggem was sent off 15 seconds into the second half after pulling down James. Neco Williams scored from the resulting free-kick to put Wales ahead.

Wales created further chances but did not extend their lead, leaving a nervy finish before they held on for the win.

Sky Sports reported that the result followed Wales’ defeat to Denmark. Norway’s Erling Haaland started and had two headed chances, but the report described him as largely quiet.
