Ukrainian drone strikes injure eight at Russian Wildberries logistics hubs
President Zelenskyy confirms strikes hit military supply lines and naval vessels as Kyiv intensifies long-range operations
Ukrainian drones have targeted logistics centres belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, in the southern cities of Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, resulting in eight confirmed injuries. The strikes prompted the immediate evacuation of the facilities, with Wildberries CEO Tatiana Kim confirming the closure on Wednesday morning.
Regional authorities reported distinct outcomes for the two locations. Vladimir Vladimirov, governor of Stavropol Krai, stated that a warehouse complex on the outskirts of Nevinnomyssk caught fire after a drone attack, with five individuals receiving medical treatment. In Krasnodar, local operational headquarters confirmed that three additional people were wounded after drone debris fell on a warehouse site.
The incident follows a separate attack on Saturday that killed eight night-shift workers at Wildberries warehouses. Local authorities in Armavir also reported one worker killed on Wednesday after drone debris struck a facility in the city.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the army had successfully targeted “important facilities in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions.” He stated that the strikes hit logistics centres involved in supplying the Russian army with components for drones, navigation equipment, and supplies, as well as an oil depot. Zelenskyy added that in the Black Sea and Azov Sea areas, a tanker and four cargo ships belonging to the Russian shadow fleet were hit.
Robert Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said on Wednesday that Ukrainian drones struck 13 Russian vessels in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov in the past 48 hours. The attacks are part of what Ukraine calls its “40-day influence operations” to influence Russia back to the negotiating table through long-range drone strikes deep inside Russia.
Outgoing Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskii also said that Ukraine had recaptured 700 sq km of its territory this year. Russia has not yet commented on the Ukrainian attacks on its territory. Meanwhile, Ukrainian governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehubov, said that over the past 24 hours, 15 settlements had been subjected to Russian attacks, killing three people and injuring 11 others, including two children.
