UFC returns to Sacramento for middleweight clash between Hernandez and Rodrigues

UFC Fight Night is set to return to the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, 22 August 2026, marking the promotion’s first appearance in the state capital since July 2019. The event is scheduled to stream exclusively on Paramount+, with the main card commencing at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and preliminary bouts starting at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
The headliner features a middleweight contest between Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues. Hernandez, known by the nickname "Fluffy," is looking to recover from a February loss to Sean Strickland, a defeat that ended an eight-fight winning streak. A victory over Rodrigues would potentially return Hernandez to the title conversation.
Rodrigues, nicknamed "Robocop," enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak, having secured victories in six of his last seven contests. The matchup represents a significant test for both veterans as they aim to solidify their positions within the middleweight division.
The co-main event features heavyweight Vitor Petrino facing Serghei Spivac. Petrino is on a three-fight winning streak following his move up to the heavyweight category, while Spivac is seeking to build on a February win that came after two consecutive defeats.
Additional bouts on the card include a light heavyweight fight between Reinier de Ridder and Roman Dolidze, both of whom have previously competed at middleweight. The event also features the UFC debut of Anthony Wint, who will face Terrance Chatman in the heavyweight division following a contract-winning performance on The Contender Series.
