Fantasy football players have been advised to consider Saints receiver Devaughn Vele and Cowboys running back Emari Demercado on the Week 2 waiver wire, according to SportsLine analyst Josh Nagel.

Vele reportedly caught seven of nine targets for 63 yards and a touchdown against the Lions in Week 1. Nagel recommends bidding up to $10 in Free Agency Acquisition Budget, or using a priority waiver claim, for leagues seeking receiver or flex depth.

Nagel also pointed to Vele’s reported production late last season, when he recorded 19 catches for 239 yards and a touchdown across the final four games.

Demercado reportedly had two touches in the Cowboys’ 28–20 loss to the Giants. SportsLine said the former Cardinals running back was signed after projected RB2 Malik Davis reportedly suffered a season-ending injury during the Cowboys’ final practice before Week 1.

Nagel expects Demercado’s usage could increase as he becomes familiar with the Cowboys’ system, though that projection is not a confirmed team decision. SportsLine said its full list of recommended waiver targets, including an overlooked receiver it described as potentially offering strong value, is available through its service.
