UConn documentary offers insight into Bueckers and Fudd’s bond
The Apple TV series "The Dynasty: UConn Huskies" provides a glimpse into the relationship between Dallas Wings teammates, who describe their connection as private but not a secret.

Former University of Connecticut teammates and current Dallas Wings players Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have provided new insight into their romantic relationship in the Apple TV documentary "The Dynasty: UConn Huskies," which premiered on Friday. The three-part series does not devote an entire episode to the pair, but it offers a look at their bond, which began when they met as teenagers at a USA Basketball camp.
Fudd described the relationship as "private, not a secret," noting that their close circle was aware of their status. "Paige and I are a couple, and everyone close to us that was important knew," Fudd said during the recording. "But it was just kind of one of those things, it's just private, not a secret, but private."
Until now, the players had kept their relationship low-key, with the only prior public confirmation being a "girlfriend reveal" video shared by Bueckers last July. A Dallas Wings representative previously shut down media inquiries about their dynamic as professional teammates, and Bueckers had stated that their personal relationship was "nobody's business but our own."
In the documentary, Bueckers revealed that she felt a "spark" with Fudd that was distinct from a normal friendship. "It kind of just meshed as soon as we met," Bueckers said. "She's sweet. She's genuine. She has a huge, caring heart. We kind of felt like a spark a little bit different than what would just be considered a normal friendship."
The players discussed the importance of supporting each other through difficult times, including injuries and the mental pressure of playing for a historic programme. Bueckers joined the Huskies in 2020 and helped recruit Fudd, who joined the following year. Their collegiate journey culminated in the 2025 national championship.
At the professional level, the pair has continued to perform, with the Dallas Wings set to make the postseason for the first time since 2023. However, Fudd will miss the rest of the WNBA season after recently announcing she is undergoing knee surgery. As she begins her healing process, Fudd expressed gratitude for the support of her team, family, and close circle.
