Bradford City extend winning run with Yorkshire derby victory
Aden Baldwin’s second-half volley secured a 1-0 win for Bradford City over Sheffield Wednesday, marking the club’s third consecutive victory.

Bradford City have extended their winning streak to three consecutive matches after defeating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in a League One fixture. The result was secured by a second-half goal from Aden Baldwin, following a first half that saw the visitors struggle to find their rhythm against a pressing home side.
Sheffield Wednesday applied significant early pressure, with Barry Bannan and Louie Barry creating several threatening opportunities. Bannan tested Bradford goalkeeper Jon McCracken with a shot that was beaten away, while Louie Barry curled an effort narrowly off target after nicking the ball away from a defender inside the area.
The breakthrough came two minutes after the restart. Following a corner kick delivered by Ibou Touray, Matthew Pennington headed the ball on, allowing Baldwin to volley the ball into the net. The goal marked a distinct improvement in Bradford’s performance compared to the lacklustre first-half display.
Despite the goal, Sheffield Wednesday continued to press for an equaliser. Goalkeeper Joe Lumley made crucial saves to deny Jake Beesley and Adam Phillips, while Josh Neufville also shot narrowly wide for the visitors.
In stoppage time, Jamal Lowe had a close-range chance to level the score for Wednesday but fired wide, leaving Bradford City to hold on for the victory. The win consolidates the form of Graham Alexander’s side as they continue their positive run in the league.
