Two separate shootings reported in West Bank
Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man near Jenin after the army alleged he attempted a vehicular attack, while an Israeli settler died in a separate shooting near Halamish.
Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man near Ganim, east of Jenin, on Sunday after the Israeli army said he had attempted a vehicular attack near the settlement. The claim has not been independently verified.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said Israeli forces prevented its medical team from reaching the victim, according to the Wafa news agency.
In a separate incident, an Israeli settler died of gunshot wounds after being shot near Halamish in the central West Bank. Police said the 30-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he died.
The Israeli army said it was searching for a suspect who opened fire from a vehicle before fleeing on foot. The circumstances of the shooting and the identities of those involved remained unclear.
Following the Halamish shooting, Israeli forces reportedly closed entry and exit points to Ramallah and el-Bireh, Wafa reported. The two incidents were described as separate.
