The contest was defined by an explosive second half where the Thunder outscored Los Angeles 74-49 after trailing by two points at half-time. Ajay Mitchell was instrumental in this turnaround, scoring 24 points with 18 of those marks coming in the final 24 minutes, including four three-pointers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 23 points and nine assists, while Chet Holmgren added 18 points and nine rebounds to support the offensive surge.
For the Lakers, the effort was hampered by inefficiency and unforced errors. Rui Hachimura led the squad with 21 points, making five three-pointers, while LeBron James recorded 19 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Despite these efforts, Los Angeles shot just 46.9 per cent from the field and committed 17 turnovers, which directly contributed to 30 Oklahoma City points.

In contrast, the Lakers struggled to find their rhythm, managing only 14 successful shots from beyond the arc out of 30 attempts. Both teams are currently operating with significant roster constraints due to hamstring injuries. The Lakers are missing scoring champion Luka Dončić, while Oklahoma City is without its second-best player, Jalen Williams.
