Texas Tech has ruled starting cornerback Amier Boyd out of Friday’s Big 12 opener against Houston, according to an injury report cited by Yahoo Sports from a ClutchPoints account.
Outside linebacker Trey White and tight end Terrance Carter Jr. are listed as questionable. Coach Joey McGuire reportedly said both players were trending in the right direction, but the available report does not confirm that either has been cleared to play.
White is seeking his Texas Tech debut after dealing with a back injury. Carter missed the Red Raiders’ 35-24 win over Oregon State with a foot issue.
The injury update comes as No. 13 Texas Tech prepares to host No. 22 Houston in Lubbock. The Red Raiders are 2-0 after their win over Oregon State and will begin Big 12 play on Friday.
