Texas hold off Tennessee with final-play pass breakup

Texas beat Tennessee 20–17 at Neyland Stadium, stopping the hosts’ final Hail Mary with a pass breakup in the end zone to preserve the SEC victory and improve to 4–0.
Arch Manning completed 14 of 19 passes for 201 yards and threw an interception, with no touchdown passes. He was sacked six times as Texas struggled to establish its running game, finishing with 61 rushing yards.
The Longhorns were penalised 11 times for 115 yards, including seven penalties in the first half. Three were attributed to Manning, while defensive end Colin Simmons was penalised for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Texas also lost receiver Cam Coleman after he made one catch and left with an apparent injury. No further details on the injury were provided in the Fox Sports report.
Fox Sports reported the programmes had not met since the 1969 Cotton Bowl. Texas is scheduled to face Oklahoma on 10 October.
