Tanker struck by unknown projectile entering Strait of Hormuz, injuring two crew members

A tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile while entering the Strait of Hormuz, injuring two crew members, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO).
The British maritime-security agency said the crew members sustained minor injuries. The vessel reportedly remained capable of sailing under its own power and continued towards its next port of call.
No environmental impact had been reported at the time of publication. The tanker’s name, flag, cargo and precise location were not provided.
The origin and type of the projectile, as well as the circumstances surrounding the strike, remain unknown. No responsibility for the incident has been established.
The Strait of Hormuz is a major global oil-transit route. Tanker traffic has reportedly resumed in part amid heightened regional tensions, although it remains below previous levels.
