Russian attacks killed at least four people in Ukraine on Wednesday, 7 October, according to Ukrainian officials cited by France 24. Authorities also reported damage to transport infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two people were rescued as firefighters tackled a blaze in the capital’s Darnytskyi neighbourhood. Two bodies were later found, he said.

Ukraine’s National Police said drone attacks in Sumy Oblast killed two men and wounded scores of people. Three injured children, aged seven, 14 and 16, were hurt when an apartment was hit. The report gave no precise injury total.

In Kyiv, residents took shelter in subway stations amid air-raid alerts, and an AFP journalist heard explosions early Wednesday. The source account also reported damage to transport infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, without detailing its extent.

The casualty and damage reports were attributed to Ukrainian officials and authorities; the account provided no independent verification.
