Spurs’ Harper Suffers Hamstring Injury in Western Conference Finals Defeat
San Antonio’s backcourt depth is further compromised as Dylan Harper exits Wednesday night’s 122-113 loss, compounding the absence of De’Aaron Fox.

San Antonio Spurs rookie guard Dylan Harper sustained a right hamstring injury during Wednesday night’s 122-113 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals. The injury occurred in the third quarter, prompting Harper to exit the contest and be ruled out for the remainder of the match.
The incident adds to the Spurs’ ongoing backcourt challenges, with veteran guard De’Aaron Fox already sidelined. Fox is missing his second consecutive game due to a high ankle sprain sustained in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. Harper had been starting in the backcourt in Fox’s absence, making his availability critical to the team’s rotation.
Harper’s injury occurred with 5:25 remaining in the third quarter. He fell to the ground and grabbed his right hamstring after driving to the basket for a layup that was blocked by Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Although he continued to play for a brief period, Harper was substituted out at the 4:50 mark and replaced by Carter Bryant.
Following the substitution, Harper left the floor and headed toward the locker room. He returned to the bench briefly before walking back through the tunnel toward the visitors’ locker room. The long-term prognosis for the hamstring injury was not immediately specified in the available reports.
Harper finished the game with 12 points, three assists, and two rebounds in 25 minutes of play. The loss extends the Thunder’s lead in the series, while the Spurs face increased pressure on their remaining backcourt personnel.
