Raiders face six-game test after Miami win
Las Vegas enters a demanding stretch against the Chargers, Saints, Chiefs, Patriots, Bills and Rams as its rebuild comes under scrutiny.
The Las Vegas Raiders begin a six-game stretch at the Los Angeles Chargers after opening with a 27–13 win over the Miami Dolphins, a run that could offer a clearer measure of the rebuilding team’s progress.
The schedule continues against the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams. Games against the Chargers, Saints and Patriots are on the road.
Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said the team would approach the schedule one game at a time. The Chargers have won 11 games in each of the past two seasons, while the Patriots reached last season’s Super Bowl, according to the Yahoo Sports/AP report.
Las Vegas went 3–14 last season. The Bills, Chiefs and Rams are described as Super Bowl contenders or favourites, although the report notes that early-season results may not fully reflect the strength of the upcoming opponents.
The Raiders’ win over Miami provided encouraging signs. Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes, Ashton Jeanty produced 147 total yards and Las Vegas recorded five sacks.
The performance also exposed areas for improvement, with Cousins not testing the Dolphins deep and the offence producing just three yards and two first downs in the fourth quarter. The next six games will test whether the opening victory reflects broader progress.
