SportsLine model backs Seahawks and Buccaneers in Week 2 NFL betting picks
A computer model that simulates games 10,000 times has identified the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as top-rated spread covers for the upcoming round of matches.

SportsLine’s advanced computer model has released its predictions for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season, backing the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover their respective point spreads. The model, which simulates every game 10,000 times to project outcomes, has a 53-39 record on top-rated picks dating back to 2024.
The Seahawks are rated as an "A-rated" pick to cover a 3.5-point spread against the Arizona Cardinals in a Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. The model projects Seattle to cover the spread in nearly 60 per cent of simulations. This prediction follows the Seahawks’ victory in the Week 1 "Kickoff Game" and their strong historical performance against Arizona, having defeated the Cardinals in nine consecutive games.
The Cardinals, who upset the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, recorded 111 penalty yards, the second-highest total in that week’s matches. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have a 6-1 record against the spread when holding a rest advantage since the start of the 2025 season, a factor that may influence the upcoming contest.
In another top-rated selection, the model backs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover an 8.5-point spread against the Cleveland Browns. Tampa Bay is forecasted to cover the spread in well over 50 per cent of simulations, with the over hitting more than 60 per cent of the time. The prediction comes after Cleveland allowed 34 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, during which quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked five times.
The Browns’ defensive struggles are compounded by their away form, with a 4-14 record against the spread on the road since 2024, the worst in the league. Although the Buccaneers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, a return home is expected to provide a boost against a vulnerable Cleveland side.
Other notable lines for the week include the San Francisco 49ers, who are listed as 12.5-point favourites against the Miami Dolphins, representing the largest spread of the young season. The Los Angeles Rams are also heavy favourites, giving 7 points to the New York Giants in a Monday night contest. Both the 49ers and Rams played in Australia during Week 1 and are scheduled for home games in Week 2.
